Praying in God's Wil
Reading: 1 John 5:14–15
Devotional: John assures us that when we pray according to God's will, He hears us. This brings us back to the importance of aligning our prayers with God's character and purposes. It's not about manipulating God to do our will, but about submitting our will to His. As you pray today, start by asking God to align your desires with His. Pray, "Not my will, but Yours be done." This posture of surrender opens us up to recognize God's answers, even when they differ from our expectations. It reminds us that we're part of God's larger story, not the other way around. End your prayer time by thanking God for His wisdom and love, trusting that He is working all things for good, even when we can't see it.
Reflection Question:
What areas of your life are hardest to surrender to God's will—and why?
Action Step:
Write a short prayer of surrender naming one area where you struggle to yield control. Each day this week, revisit that prayer and ask God to shape your desires to reflect His will.
