Specific Prayers, Specific Answers

Jul 1, 2025

Reading: Matthew 7:7–11

Devotional: Today's passage encourages us to ask, seek, and knock in prayer. Jesus assures us that our Heavenly Father gives good gifts to those who ask. This aligns with the sermon's emphasis on praying specifically. When we pray with clarity and detail, we're better able to recognize God's answers. Take some time to write down three specific prayer requests. Be as detailed as possible—include amounts, dates, or particular outcomes. As you pray these requests, also ask God to open your eyes to see His responses, even if they come in unexpected ways. Remember, sometimes God's "no" or "wait" is actually a loving protection or preparation for something better.

Reflection Question:

How might your trust in God grow if you began to notice and record how He responds to your specific prayers?

Action Step:

Write down three detailed prayer requests in a journal or prayer app. Each day this week, pray over them and note any ways you see God responding, even in subtle or surprising ways.
