The Christmas season is filled with many celebrations but Jesus being born is the biggest reason to celebrate! This week, kids hear about how an angel appeared to Mary and Joseph separately to tell them about the baby Jesus.
THE BIG IDEA: We can celebrate God’s plan.
THE BIBLE: Luke 1:26-38; Matthew 1:18-24
LESSON QUESTION: What did the angel say to Mary? What about to Joseph?
ACTIVITY: Today, we heard a story about an angel named Gabriel who told Mary what she was supposed to do and what God had planned for her! We are going to play a game with our own angel! Quick! Find something silly to be the angel halo. Pay attention to what the angel tells you to do and make sure to follow along! Choose someone to be the leader and place the halo on their head. Tell the other kids to follow whatever the "angel" tells them to do. Some ideas are run in place, hop up and down, pat your belly, point to your nose, make a silly face, etc.
